“We will do it together”: Prime Minister Andy Burnham delivers message to Farnborough International Airshow attendees
Burnham was appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on 20 July, day one of the world’s largest international airshow
“We will do it by working together with brilliant businesses, like those at Farnborough this week.” That’s the message from the Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP on his first full day as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in an exclusive message shared with attendees of the Farnborough International Airshow.
In the two-minute-long clip, the Prime Minister highlights his recognition of the “big deal” that Farnborough represents, before setting out “what I think we can achieve together”.
He stressed the need to “reindustrialise the nation” in order to deliver jobs.
Data from trade association ADS, which represents more than 2000 businesses across the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, highlights that more than two-thirds of the 468,500 jobs in these sectors are found outside of London and the Southeast.
