Inzpire facilitates delivery of COBRA WARRIOR 26-2 at RAF Waddington
Inzpire played a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of COBRA WARRIOR 26-2, the Royal Air Force‘s capstone live-flying exercise at RAF Waddington.
Embedded alongside military colleagues throughout the year-long planning cycle, Inzpire’s White Force personnel organised the integration of multinational participants and training objectives before supporting the delivery of realistic scenarios during live missions, helping crews to train against the pace of modern multidomain operations.
Bringing together air and maritime participants from the UK, Italy, Germany, Canada, France, Portugal, the Netherlands and the United States, COBRA WARRIOR 26-2 delivered tactical training across air, land, sea, cyber and space domains, enabling RAF and NATO allies to visibly demonstrate their agility and readiness. The latest iteration included the largest contribution from land forces to date and a greater number of autonomous collaborative platforms than any previous COBRA WARRIOR exercise.

Wing Commander Sam Williams, Officer Commanding Number 92 Squadron, Air & Space Warfare Centre, said: “Inzpire is an integral and indispensable part of the 92 Squadron Whole Force and its contribution to COBRA WARRIOR goes far beyond simply providing additional capacity, it is the expertise and continuity that enable us to deliver the exercise at this scale and complexity.
“Working seamlessly alongside our RAF personnel, Inzpire’s specialists bring a depth of knowledge, experience and credibility across the entire exercise lifecycle, from scenario design and detailed planning through to live execution and debrief. Crucially, that expertise allows us to push the ambition, complexity and realism of Ex COBRA WARRIOR significantly further than we could otherwise achieve, across all five warfighting domains: Air, Land, Sea, Space and Cyber.
“This is Whole Force integration at its best. By combining the strengths of military and industry personnel, we are able to deliver increasingly sophisticated and demanding collective training, better preparing UK and allied forces for the challenges of contemporary warfare.”
How the exercise brought together NATO allies for multidomain operational training
The three-week exercise included 14 missions that reflected threats seen in contemporary conflicts. Two scenarios, for example, gave crews and commanders practice in identifying, tracking and responding to drones and simulated cruise missiles.
Alongside exercise management, Inzpire fulfilled the Red Chair role, coordinating forces to replicate adversary capabilities, including Red Air aircraft, jamming attempts and simulated cyber threats.
During the second week, naval vessels from NATO allies also participated in COBRA WARRIOR, operating in both allied and adversary roles, with Inzpire helping to synchronise training effects and realistic integration between maritime and air assets.
Further support was provided by Inzpire’s synthetic training specialists to role-play intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance activity in real time, adding realism for exercise participants and enabling forces to rehearse decision-making in pressured environments.

Andy Fisher, Head of Air and Space Division, Inzpire, said: “The latest COBRA WARRIOR demonstrated the value of combining a highly experienced whole force team, live activity and advanced synthetic capabilities to create genuinely demanding, multidomain training.
“Our White Force team was proud to support the exercise from planning through to execution, helping multinational participants integrate complex effects, understand the battlespace and maximise the training value of every mission, ultimately improving operational readiness and strengthening interoperability between UK and allied forces.”
