Aeroflot unveils Manchester United livery on new Airbus A321

Russia's Aeroflot today unveiled the new Manchester United livery that is to adorn two of the latest additions to its fleet.

A new Airbus A321 (above), featuring Aeroflot’s traditional white-blue-red colour scheme merging into Manchester United’s red and yellow crest, will service short-haul routes within Russia and Europe, and will also be available for use as a charter plane for Manchester United’s coach and team if required.

Aeroflot also plans to kit out another plane, servicing long-haul routes, in the Manchester United livery.

This comes as part of a multi-year deal signed in July 2013 between Russia’s leading air carrier and one of the world’s most famous football clubs.

Announcing its selection, Manchester United said it was impressed by Aeroflot’s attention to flight safety and onboard service. The move was the football club’s first commercial venture in Russia, which it views as an attractive and expanding market.

Aeroflot’s fleet is one of Europe’s youngest, with 90 of the over 140 planes belonging to the A319/320/321 series with an average age of five years.
