Aerovolt installing electric aircraft charging at UK airports

Aerovolt are due to install their smart charging network for electric aircraft at airports in the UK, starting in the Solent region on 4th August.

The first ever installations of a multi-site smart charging network for electric aircraft in the UK will begin on 4th August.

Aerovolt are providing exclusive airside smart charging operations and access to electric aircraft.

The first six install sites will be:

  • Sandown, Isle of Wight
  • Lydd, Kent
  • Bournemouth, Dorset
  • Lee-on-Solent, Hampshire
  • Brighton City Airport, West Sussex
  • Kittyhawk Aerodrome, East Sussex

Aerovolt already have over 20 aerodomes signed on for fixed charger installations at large regional and medium sized aerodromes for a first stage rollout, making it the largest smart aviation network in the world and faciliating planning, payment and operations into one unique system.

A further 18 chargers are scheduled to be installed over the next 18 months, with more powerful chargers in development.

Aircraft deliveries see strongest half-year figures since 2019

Commercial aircraft deliveries in the first half of 2025 rose by nearly a fifth compared to the same period in 2024, according to ADS, marking the strongest January-to-June delivery performance since 2019, with an increase of nearly 100 deliveries compared to the same period last year.
