Gareth Vest, Director of Asset Management at Atkins, said: “With responsibility for 1.8% of the UK’s land mass, DIO has a vast amount of assets to coordinate. As DIO’s Strategic Asset Management Partner, we can support them on their journey to manage these assets more effectively, using our world-class people, intelligent tools and processes to provide a wealth of information on asset condition and maintenance.”

Atkins will use its proven asset management tools, including the Information Data Management System (IDMS), developed for Dubai Airport and the Strategic Investment Planning (SIP) tool, developed by Faithful+Gould to manage university estates, to put DIO at the forefront of intelligent asset management.

Major General Bobby Walton-Knight, DIO’s Director of Strategy and Plans, said: "Developing an asset management system is a key element of optimising the Defence estate. Atkins' experience and expertise makes them an ideal partner for this work and they will be fundamental in helping us drive this forward. We are very much looking forward to working with them."
