Working on programmes across the maritime domain will maximise benefits for customers in the delivery of complex solutions which are capable, available and affordable.

The charter, signed at Babcock’s headquarters in London by John Howie, Babcock’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and John Weale, AEUK’s Chairperson, builds on a longstanding working relationship between the two businesses.

John Howie said: “We are delighted to have signed this charter, which signals an intent for a more collaborative relationship between Babcock and Atlas Elektronik UK, recognising how our complementary capabilities can combine to deliver critical outcomes to our customers.

“Babcock makes our customers’ mission our mission, and collaboration is one of our key principles to us fulfilling our purpose of creating a safe and secure world, together.”

John Weale, Chairperson, AEUK, added: “Atlas Elektronik UK and Babcock have been working together to agree a charter and develop a framework agreement to better enable in-service support to ships and submarines, to help improve platform availability and capabilities.

“With a particular focus on support in both Devonport and HMNB Clyde, the charter promotes ways of working to also support platforms deployed overseas.  This is a new and exciting opportunity that demonstrates increased collaboration across the UK Maritime Enterprise for the good of UK Defence.”
