CCL Solutions releases RabbitHole upgrade

Digital forensics and cyber security specialist CCL Solutions Group has announced the release of the latest version of its data viewer, RabbitHole, featuring a major upgrade with the addition of advanced deleted data recovery.

The standout new feature of version 3 is its ability to recover deleted data from SQLite databases – a task that would previously have required extra tooling and extra time and effort. By making deleted content recoverable within the same intuitive environment, users can gain rapid access to critical artefacts that might otherwise remain hidden.

CCL Principal Analyst and RabbitHole’s creator, Alex Caithness (above), said: “SQLite is one of the most common database formats in digital forensics, and deleted data within SQLite could be pivotal to an investigation.

"By bringing recovery into RabbitHole, we’ve made it faster and easier for analysts to surface that evidence without having to jump through hoops or buy, train in and validate additional software. It makes for a comprehensive SQLite forensics tool in its own right, adding to RabbitHole’s existing powerful workflows.

RabbitHole has long been described as the tool that “picks up where other tools leave off.” With v3, it continues to deliver on that promise, not just saving analysts time but also deepening their understanding of the data in front of them. Key benefits include:

  • Access more data, more easily – recover and explore deleted SQLite records alongside supported data types, all without scripting or exporting between tools.
  • Drill down seamlessly – navigate into data embedded within other data and switch effortlessly to the optimal view for each format.
  • Work smarter, not harder – spend less time wrangling with multiple tools and more time analysing results.
  • Invest in one complete tool – project files, interface refinements and broad file support make RabbitHole a single, reliable solution for everyday forensic exploration.

RabbitHole's mantra is 'You don’t know what you’re missing' and so now that it can recover both live and deleted data equally effortlessly, users can be confident of missing less and discovering more.

Existing RabbitHole users will receive a free upgrade on request.
