The equipment will be integrated into mobile air defence units, providing the necessary advanced electro-optical targeting of hostile air-borne threats.

The Hawkeye EOSS delivers long range detection, identification and tracking through a combination of high resolution optical and thermal imaging sensors, advanced AI-enhanced tracking algorithms and a high-precision positioner designed for operation in demanding environments. The order reflects the rapid shift in defence requirements away from static installations towards agile, expeditionary sensor systems.

Mark Byfield, Business Development Director at Chess commented: "We are pleased to be part of a very effective, proven high performance system by working closely with our prime customer. As mobile air defence platforms become ever more important, this contract underlines the need for such systems to incorporate sensor capability that is able to keep pace with shifting threats."

In addition to long range target acquisition, the Hawkeye EOSS incorporates Chess’ DEFT AI-enhanced tracking algorithms to ensure robust capture and track maintenance of hostile targets.
