DTC welcomes Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond

Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond has visited Whiteley-based Domo Tactical Communications (DTC) to tour the facilities and meet some of its 86 employees, learning about apprenticeship opportunities and the importance of export markets.

DTC is an engineering company providing video surveillance, broadcast and secure wireless communications solutions.

It has been exporting its products for more than 30 years, to the military, law enforcement, counter-terror units, robotics, as well as television broadcasters.

Flick talked to staff about the importance exports have played in the business’s growth and how DTC has encouraged local engineering by investing in apprentices from the area.

“It was really exciting to see some cutting-edge technology which you would normally expect to see in a James Bond film being developed and manufactured at this local company,” said Flick.

“Importantly, this is a business that is exporting all over the world and one that is investing in young people from the local area too.

“The post-Brexit UK needs to do all it can to ensure firms like DTC has all the tools it needs to continue to thrive, to export across the world and to invest in young people, who want a career in technology.”

Louise Lis, the company’s HR Director added: “We are always looking to develop local talent via well-structured apprenticeships.

“Attracting the right people is a continuous challenge but we have had great success having several members of the programme successfully secure permanent roles at DTC and the company has encouraged as well as funded their degrees.”
