Getac to unveil F110 secure rugged tablet at DSEI

Getac will unveil the secure variant of its highly successful F110 fully rugged mobile tablet at DSEI next week.

The new F110 Secure combines Getac’s unparalleled ruggedisation with hardware security from an industry-leading encryption partner, ViaSat. Defence users who previously had to carry a laptop now have access to a fully rugged and encrypted yet low-profile tablet solution.

The tablet is a more portable and practical, yet powerful solution for meeting Defence SWAP (size, weight and power) requirements.

The 11.6” F110 Windows tablet, certified to MIL-STD 810G, has been modified to integrate a CESG-certified secure 2.5”, 7mm Solid State Disk (SSD). The modification allows the tablet to store, process and protect classified data at levels up to and including Top Secret. The small form factor, coupled with the secure SSD, means true mobility for end users working with highly classified data, while in critical working environments.

Peter Molyneux, President, Getac UK, says: “The F110 is already a market-leading device having recently been refreshed with a more powerful processor, protected from the chassis up with a fully rugged design and certification. With the addition of a secure SSD, it is now the default Windows-Intel platform on which to carry out military operations with confidence in all critical working environments.”

Basingstoke–based IT solutions provider, Centerprise International, is the Authorised Partner for the F110 Secure tablet from Getac.

Sales Director, Jeremy Nash says: “Centerprise is pleased to be the Authorised Partner for the F110 Secure tablet from Getac. This additional secure solution further enhances our portfolio for the defence sector and other data-sensitive environments.”

The F110 Secure is fitted with Intel’s® fifth-generation Broadwell technology. This processing power, allied with Getac’s trademark rugged build, will enable the unit to deliver exceptional computing performance in the harshest of working environments. The processor also provides more efficient use of power, extending battery life in the field, a critical concern for the military.

The device incorporates a high-definition screen with Lumibond® 2.0, the latest version of Getac’s proprietary technology for visibility in bright sunlight with a unique screen-bonding process. This allows touchscreen usage in the rain, or with gloves, or with a stylus – making the device perfect for outdoor operations, while its size is ideal for GIS mapping applications.

The F110 Secure will be available for demonstration by Getac at DSEI, Excel, London, from 15 to 18 September.
