Inzpire to support military helicopter training for over 20 European nations

Lincoln based Inzpire has been awarded a contract to continue delivering training to the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre (MHTC) in Sintra, Portugal, until the end of 2025.

Building on nearly 20 years of world-leading military aircrew training in the live and synthetic environment, Inzpire’s Helicopter Services Division will instruct over 20 European nations in courses including Helicopter Tactics, Helicopter Tactics Instruction, Electromagnetic Warfare and Composite Air Operations.

The courses range from basic to advanced helicopter tactic theory and practical rehearsal supported by Inzpire’s bespoke dual helicopter simulator. Students attend from various European rotary fleets and include pilots and rear crew, from those who have just completed basic flying training right through to potential tactic instructors on operational squadrons.

“The continuation of our training provision at No1 Air Base in Sintra, Portugal, is testament to the team’s professionalism, operational experience and flexibility in delivering to diverse audiences.

Colonel Jorge Inacio, MHTC Commander, commented: “Inzpire’s collaboration with the MHTC is exceptional, as their operational experience provides the crews with numerous opportunities to enhance their skills. The professionalism and expertise of Inzpire’s tactical instructors, combined with their excellent communication skills, make the learning experience seamless for courses participants.”

Inzpire’s helicopter services team has vast experience and expertise in both operational and training environments, enabling them to develop, plan, deliver and debrief realistic training to meet operational objectives. Their focused training delivery has seen them provide instructional and simulator support to the MHTC in Sintra since January 2024, prior to that the European Defence Agency since 2020, and before that at RAF Linton on Ouse from 2018.

The team comprises of aircrew drawn from across the British Army and Royal Air Force and includes highly experienced, qualified tactics instructors from attack helicopter, support helicopter, fast jet and command and control aircraft types.
