Ramboll appoints former Brigadier to lead defence work

Engineering, design and consultancy company Ramboll, has today announced the appointment of former Brigadier Jim Crawford as Head of Defence and Public Sector Procurement.

He will lead Ramboll’s growing portfolio and further ambitions in the defence and public sector. The appointment aims to build on Ramboll’s existing frameworks such as their role as Principal Support Provider for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and delivering defence and embassy consultancy for the Foreign Commonwealth Development office and Professional Services for the Falkland Islands Government.

Joining Ramboll following a 30+ year career in the Army, Jim most recently held the position of Head of Infrastructure and Estate Strategy, UK Strategic Command. In this role he delivered the £300m annual Facilities Management programme and devised and delivered the £150m annual Capital Works programme.

Speaking about his appointment, Andrew Henderson, Ramboll’s Head of Buildings in the UK said “Jim is an accomplished leader and brings a wealth of expertise and experience that will support us in delivering on our ambitions in the defence and public sector. We very much look forward to him joining our team, he has a real passion for exemplary results, a proven track record in delivery and shares our drive to deliver innovative solutions to create better outcomes. Jim’s knowledge, project and programme experience, coupled with his technical background as a chartered engineer and Fellow of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Institution of Royal Engineers will undoubtedly support us in our growth ambitions”

Jim commented: “I’m delighted to be joining Ramboll during these challenging times for our industry and nation. It is clear to me that engineering and infrastructure is going to be at the forefront of the recovery, and I am looking forward to taking on this challenge with the team.”
