In the UK, Serco operates and maintains a fleet of 96 vessels, which enable the Royal Navy to operate safely and efficiently, in and out of port, ensuring Royal Navy readiness since 1996.

On behalf of Trinity House, Just Be Maritime Ltd has now arranged for the first two MNSS cadets to join the support vessel SD Victoria for a training deployment.

SD Victoria is primarily used to support military training and exercises as part of Serco's contract with the UK Ministry of Defence. During their time aboard, the Officer Cadets will be undertaking a range of activities and tasks as part of completing their MNTB Training Record Books, including vessel familiarisation, maintenance work and watchkeeping duties.

Guy Barker, Serco’s Maritime Services Director, commented: “Serco is delighted to be working with Trinity House to provide opportunities within the maritime industry. Serco has been providing support to the Royal Navy for over 27 years, operating and maintaining a fleet of 96 vessels to ensure Royal Navy readiness and safe and efficient operations. It is a privilege to be able to share that opportunity with the next generation of British seafarers.”

Stuart Benge, Operations Director for Just Be Maritime, noted: “This is a real opportunity for Trinity House’s cadets to gain very specialist seagoing experience and training with Serco, which will benefit them enormously professionally.”
