Steatite acquires Blazepoint's assets

Steatite announced that its parent company Solid State PLC has acquired the assets of Blazepoint Ltd, an established supplier of rugged mobile computing platforms and hand held devices to the commercial and military marketplace worldwide.

Blazepoint has previously built a strong reputation for developing Ruggedised Mobile Solutions to meet demanding applications in both the commercial and military market spaces, it is also known extensively for its “ndura rugged” mobile platforms and this brand will continue to afford clients robust mobile computing solutions.
 
Now trading as STEATITE BLAZEPOINT, the company sits under the Steatite arm of Solid State PLC. Steatite itself has built a strong reputation for supplying computing platforms to be used in harsh environments in both commercial and military applications and the addition of Steatite Blazepoint enhances this capability with their extensive knowledge of robust Mobile Computing Platforms.

Mike Mountfield, Sales Director for Steatite, said: “Our goal is to enhance and develop our products, capabilities, services and support within Steatite Blazepoint and work with existing and new clients to supply robust mobile computing solutions that exceed expectations.”

Steatite Blazepoint boasts an impressive in-house product engineering capability with extensive experience in the areas of design, development and manufacture of rugged computers and peripherals. Its products are controlled by UK export regulations and are also free of US export control regulations (ITAR).
