Techmodal will take over the existing service, including transfer of 13 specialist OA roles to enable unbroken service delivery. We are delighted to welcome the incumbent team to Techmodal, as their skills and capabilities are an excellent match with our own. Transferring them into our organisation will allow us to supplement and enhance the OA delivery team as necessary to give the customer the best possible output.

In addition to the continuity provided by the transfer of existing staff, the contract gives Defence Logistics and Support Transformation direct access to the more than 100 security-cleared professionals employed by Techmodal.  This improves both depth and resilience, translating into access to better outcomes for the Defence client.

Techmodal is a specialist data analysis and modelling company that has been conducting Logistic Operational Analysis for UK MoD customers for over 15 years. In our work with the UK MoD we have a wide range of experience which can be drawn on by the team delivering this requirement, including with Joint Force Command/Strategic Command, Army, Navy Dstl and DE&S.

Techmodal has developed sophisticated applications which are now deployed in the MoD and industry. These range from open source advanced algorithms for natural language processing, mapping and prediction through to a big data fusion as used for the Royal Navy. We also conduct analysis work for MoD Centre and defence supply chain which will provide useful relationships, skills and experience reach-back during the delivery of this work.

Techmodal Director, Gareth Vaughan, said: “Winning this work is a fantastic outcome for Techmodal. During the last 15 years there has been incredible change in how data can be collected, stored, accessed, analysed and exploited. Government is recognising the need to be data-science driven and Defence is no exception.

"Techmodal combines heritage and ability to provide robust and supportable modelling with the latest analysis and simulation techniques and technologies. This contract allows us to bring these to bear on a range of logistics challenges.”
