The ARINC AMS solution enables Tocumen to capture both operational and Advance Passenger Information (API) data from international air transport carriers. On the operational side, ARINC is sending Load Messages (LDM), Baggage Source Messages (BSM), and Movement Messages (MVT) to Tocumen. The messages contain critical information about the weight, movement, and baggage associated with flights arriving to and departing from Tocumen, and are being utilized to conduct on-going analyses to improve airport efficiency.

Transmission of API data by ARINC is supporting the border security needs of Panama. API messages provide comprehensive arrival/departure passenger and crew information.

"The ARINC AviNet Airport Messaging Service allows us to capture data from every airline that operates at Tocumen," said Juan Carlos Pino, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport. "We have found the ARINC solution to be the most effective available and a significant benefit to our operations."

"Tocumen International Airport is joining other industry leaders who are using operation data analysis to improve airport efficiency," stated Yun Chong, ARINC vice president, Global Networks and IT Solutions. "We are excited to be supporting this recognised regional leader, and look forward to helping them use ARINC's AviNet Airport Messaging Service solution to improve airport operations."

Operational and Advance Passenger Information (API) data services form part of ARINC's Messaging services portfolio. ARINC has operated message switching services since the early 1960s. ARINC's messaging service is one of the major switching networks in the Air Transportation Industry.
