York completes $300m acquisition of ALL.SPACE
York Space Systems has completed its acquisition of ALL.SPACE in a deal valued at approximately $300 million.
ALL.SPACE will now operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of York, bringing its multi-link, multi-orbit terminal technology into a wider space infrastructure and mission operations business.
The transaction combines ALL.SPACE’s Hydra terminal range with York’s mission operations command and control capabilities, creating an integrated communications, coordination and execution stack for platforms operating across space, land, air and maritime domains.
The deal is made up of around $155 million in cash and 5.9 million shares of York common stock.
Multi-orbit communications for contested environments
ALL.SPACE’s Hydra terminal range is designed to provide simultaneous multi-link, multi-orbit and multi-band connectivity across LEO, MEO, GEO and HEO networks.
York said the acquisition would support assured communications and positioning in contested environments, where satellite communications and GPS can be disrupted or denied.
The companies said the combination is particularly relevant to the future operation of unmanned systems, where fleets will require resilient connectivity, coordination and mission execution across distributed theatres.
Dirk Wallinger, chief executive of York Space Systems, said: “The next generation of unmanned operations demands an integrated system for communications, coordination, and execution, built on the space layer, which is the only architecture with the global coverage and in-theatre assurance to make it work.”
ALL.SPACE to continue as York subsidiary
ALL.SPACE was founded in 2013 and has developed multi-network satellite communications terminals for defence and commercial users.
The company has delivered development programmes with organisations including the European Space Agency, UK Space Agency, UK Ministry of Defence and US Department of Defense.
Paul McCarter, chief executive of ALL.SPACE, said: “ALL.SPACE was built to keep communications alive in the exact conditions where communications are most likely to fail.
“The demand for that capability is accelerating, and joining York gives us the space infrastructure, the mission operations depth, and the customer relationships to deliver it where it is needed most.”
McCarter said ALL.SPACE’s teams, technology and customer commitments would remain intact following the acquisition.
York Space Systems is a US-based national defence and commercial space prime providing mission-critical solutions for national security, government and commercial customers.
