Lockheed Martin UK achieves highest MoD defence cyber certification

Lockheed Martin UK has achieved Defence Cyber Certification Level 3, the highest level in the Ministry of Defence programme designed to strengthen cyber resilience across the UK defence supply chain.

The company said it is the first defence company to achieve DCC Level 3, which recognises cyber resilience across its business in support of UK defence.

The milestone comes as cyber resilience becomes a growing priority for defence suppliers, with the MoD asking industry partners to achieve at least Level 0 of the Defence Cyber Certification programme by 31 December 2026.

The Defence Cyber Certification programme has been developed to improve cyber protection across the defence supply chain, helping organisations demonstrate appropriate levels of cyber resilience for the work they carry out.

Lockheed Martin UK said achieving Level 3 ahead of the wider industry deadline reflects its investment in secure operations and its focus on maintaining trusted delivery for MoD customers and partners.

Eleanor Fairford, director of cyber defence and risk at the Ministry of Defence, said: “I am delighted that Lockheed Martin has successfully achieved Level 3 of the new Defence Cyber Certification, demonstrating excellent cyber resilience in their business supporting UK Defence.”

Defence supply chain cyber resilience

The achievement comes alongside wider government activity around cyber resilience, including the Cyber Resilience Pledge, the forthcoming National Cyber Action Plan and the planned Cyber Resilience Bill.

He added that strong cyber resilience helped the company “deliver with confidence” for customers and partners.
