Chief Super Victor Olisa to be Met's Strategic Lead for Diversity and Inclusion

Haringey Police's Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Victor Olisa, is leaving his post after three years and moving to become the Met's Strategic Lead for Diversity and Inclusion, as part of a reorganisation within the Metropolitan Police.

Victor (right) will replace the Met’s senior expert on diversity and inclusion, Denise Milani, who is now moving to concentrate fully on her new role as Director of Business Change.

Chief Superintendent Olisa says: "It has been a tremendous three years for me in Haringey, a time that I have enjoyed immensely and during which I have had the good fortune to work with many extraordinary members of the community and partner agencies, and many brilliant officers and staff. We have achieved significant reductions in crime, seen confidence in the police increase and developed strong working relationship with many different communities and partner agencies. I shall miss working here greatly.

“It’s a great privilege to be appointed as our new diversity lead and I’m looking forward to continuing Denise’s work. We’ve come a long way but there’s still more we can do to become a Met that’s more diverse and inclusive.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Millichap, the current Borough Commander at Greenwich, will take up post as Borough Commander in Haringey on 20 June. Detective Superintendent Millichap joined the MPS in 1997 and has served on Islington, Hackney, Newham and Greenwich boroughs, as well as in the Counter Terrorism Command.

Detective Chief Superintendent Millichap says: “It will be a privilege to serve in Haringey. I am looking forward to joining the team and building upon the excellent work that has already been done to bring down crime and help victims. I want to work with you and your communities to make even more impact on crime, to solve local problems and to deliver high quality policing across the borough."
