The recent investment in new computer-controlled creep test frames and extensometers means that testing can now be carried out with reduced operator interaction, meaning creep tests can run more efficiently bringing improved service and reduced turnaround time for customers.

Sheffield Magna Way carries out creep and stress rupture testing for aerospace and oil & gas equipment used at high temperatures under significant load, such as jet engines, power generators and gas turbines.

Matt Hopkinson, EVP at Element commented: “Creep and stress rupture testing is one of our core capabilities at Element Sheffield, and we are pleased to be recognised with UKAS and NADCAP accreditation, which reflects our commitment to being the most trusted testing company in the aerospace and oil & gas sectors.

“We can now also offer customers across Europe a broader scope of creep and stress rupture testing capabilities in order to develop products for UK markets and this investment goes hand in hand with our company-wide focus on technology and innovation.”
