Pattonair signs contract with MTU Aero Engines

Pattonair announced today that it will be working with MTU Aero Engines, Germany's engine manufacturer, providing C class parts to MTU in Europe.

MTU and Pratt & Whitney acquired Roll-Royce’s share of the V2500 engine programme in 2012 and started working with Pattonair to supply class parts with stock supplied from the company’s distribution hub in Derby, UK.

Dave Fawcett, global commercial director of Pattonair, said: “MTU is one of the biggest independent engine manufacturers in the world, and we’re very pleased to be working with them on the V2500 engine. Having formed a true partnership approach with MTU this is a significant growth opportunity for Pattonair, building on our exceptional levels of professionalism and performance.”

MTU engages in the development, manufacture, marketing and support of commercial and military aircraft engines in all thrust and power categories, and industrial gas turbines. The company has a turnover of around €3 billion and growth targets for a further €3 billion in the next five years.

Egon W. Behle, CEO of MTU, said: “We began with live orders from Pattonair’s dispatch hub in Derby, England to our own facility in Jasionka, Poland under pilot conditions. Full operations started on the 15th of July, once formal ownership of the V2500 had passed from Rolls-Royce to MTU, and we’re very pleased with all the work Pattonair has done.”

The two companies have agreed a three-year contract and both expect positive growth as a result of the partnership.

This now positions Pattonair as the leading supplier of C class parts to the V2500 programme.
