Syensqo’s Heanor site in the UK achieves ISCC-PLUS accreditation

Syensqo, a specialist in advanced materials and chemical solutions, has announced that its Heanor site in the UK has achieved third-party accreditation (ISCC-PLUS-Cert-GB188-12830001) for the production of its ReGen portfolio of composite materials.

This certification is granted under the strict mass balance chain of custody outlined by the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC-PLUS) standard.

This latest achievement adds on nine other sites that have been certified since 2023 across the group, demonstrating Syensqo’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainable practices throughout its operations.

The mass balance method allows for the certification of renewable quantities and their allocation to specific products, enabling the gradual replacement of fossil materials in the supply chain.

With the launch of the ReGen portfolio roadmap in March 2025, Syensqo is strategically positioned to offer the market a range of composite materials made from renewable, recycled or mass balanced raw materials.

This initiative aims to reduce the use of virgin fossil-based feedstocks in its formulations and lower the carbon footprint of final products, all while maintaining the same performance standards.

“This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to advance circularity in our portfolio,” said Gabriel Molina, Composite Materials Sustainable Development Director at Syensqo. “ReGen products provide high-quality drop-in replacements for all-fossil counterparts, meeting our customers’ need for advanced circular composites without requiring modifications to existing manufacturing processes."
